Jeff Kauffman runs 6.197 ET @ a blistering 229.27 mph and moves to the #2 spot on The Elite 10 list
On May 30, 2014 the KRE team of Jeff and Mark Kauffman quietly made it to Norwalk Raceway Park for a Friday test and tune and laid down an impressive 6.197 ET @ a blistering 229.27 mph! That pass right there put them in the #2 spot on The Elite 10 list and our records indicate that the KRE Digger logged the highest mile per hour of any Pontiac out there at 229.27! Wow is right!
The Kauffman’s were kind enough to share their video with us here at fPe and we really appreciate them following the rules of submission. The time slip of the pass can be viewed here and below is the video of the 6.19 pass which is Jeff Kauffman’s best pass to date.
In talking with Jeff Kauffman, he stated that they have run some very consistent passes of late. They have been making passes ranging from 4.00 to 4.05 in the 1/8 mile. Jeff stated that they seem to be fighting the track a lot lately. “As the air cools off we start to make more power but there is not a lot of heat in the track yet here in Ohio and we keep overpowering the track once the sun goes down”.
Brother Mark Kauffman he stated, “We have a fairly mild tune on the engine right now. We are now comfortable with our fuel and clutch tune and we are ready to dial it up a little once we get some more heat in the track.”
The Kauffman Brothers seem to be on the right track and they have their eyes set on lower ETs and even bigger MPH! They look to be the odds on favorite to be the first Elite 10 member to break into the 5s. Best of luck to the Kauffman Crew.
